Terms of Service
Last updated on activation. This is placeholder legal copy. Replace it with your own reviewed terms before launch.
Effective date: [Add your launch date]. Company: [Your legal entity name], [registered address].
These sample terms describe the agreement between you and Beacon for use of the platform. Swap this wording for terms your counsel has reviewed for your jurisdiction.
1. The agreement
By creating an organization and inviting members, the organization's Admin accepts these terms on behalf of the organization. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Accounts and roles
People are invited into an organization with a role, either Admin, Manager, or Developer. Each role gates what a member can see and do. You are responsible for keeping credentials secure and for activity under your account.
3. Acceptable use
Do not abuse the service. No attempts to breach tenant isolation, probe other organizations' data, reverse engineer the platform, or overwhelm it. We rate-limit and log security-relevant actions and may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
4. Your data
Your organization's data belongs to your organization. We keep tenants isolated from one another and provide export and deletion tools. We process data to run the service. See the Privacy Policy for details.
5. Billing and trials
Paid plans include a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. After the trial, subscriptions bill per member, per month, monthly or annually, through our payment processor. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the next billing period. Fees are [state whether exclusive of taxes]. [State your refund policy.]
6. Cancellation and termination
You can cancel anytime from billing settings and keep access through the end of the paid period. You can export your organization's data before or after cancelling. We may suspend or terminate accounts for non-payment or breach of these terms.
7. Warranty disclaimer
[Placeholder] The service is provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law. [Your counsel should tailor the warranty disclaimer for your jurisdiction.]
8. Limitation of liability
[Placeholder] [Standard limitation-of-liability language goes here, reviewed by your legal counsel.]
9. Governing law
[Placeholder] These terms are governed by the laws of [your jurisdiction]. Disputes are subject to [venue / arbitration clause].
10. Changes
We may update these terms and will give notice of material changes. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
